Bhangarh is located at one end of the Sariska National Park in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. The fort located here is considered a ‘ghost fort’. Which was built by Raja Bhagwant Das of Amer in 1583. Madho Singh, the younger son of Bhagwant Das, later made it his residence.
Bhangarh was destroyed overnight by the curse of the saint
Many stories are prevalent about this place but one story which is most popular is that of Maharaja Madho Singh. It is said that Maharaja Madho Singh established the city after getting the approval of Guru Balu Nath. The saint had placed a condition in front of the Maharaj at that time that he could establish the city, but the shadow of the Maharaja’s palace would never fall on his place of prayer. If this happens then the Maharaja’s palace will be destroyed. When the palace was ready, its shadow fell on the place of prayer. At the same time Bhangarh was devastated and became a cursed city. Due to the curse of the saint, Bhangarh could not be resettled. The penance place of that saint has turned into ruins today.
When the occultist Sindhu Sevada was fascinated by Princess Ratnavati
It is said that Princess Ratnavati was very beautiful. The discussions of her beauty were far and wide. Everyone was eager to have her. One of those people was tantrik Sindhu Sevada, who wanted to get the princess at any cost. Once upon a time, the princess sent one of her maidservants to the market to get hair oil. As soon as he realized this, the tantrik did black magic on the oil. The tantrik thought that if the princess would apply the oil, she would be drawn to him.
But somehow the princess has come to know about this. The princess, wishing to entrap the tantrik in his black magic, threw the oil vial on the stone. Black magic made its effect on the stone instead of the princess and that stone started moving towards the tantrik. At one point the stone passed over the tantrik, which killed him. But while dying, he cursed Bhangarh. Due to which Bhangarh was destroyed and there was no human left there. Even Princess Ratnavati died.
What is the opinion of people regarding Bhangarh?
There are different opinions about Bhangarh. On the one hand, where scientists refuse to consider it a ghostly place. On the other hand, the views of the local people are opposite; People living in the surrounding areas here tell that the sounds of a woman screaming, banging bangs and sobs are heard. Sometimes the sounds of musical instruments also come from the fort. People have also claimed to see shadows. It will sound like a joke, but people have even said that they have been punished many times. It seems that some unseen power has taken them under their control. There is a strange smell at that place. However, there is no proof of how true this story is.

One can use taxi or public transport bus to reach Bhangarh. One can also travel in a bus going from ISBT to Alwar. From where it becomes easy to reach the fort of Bhangarh.

To come by rail you have to travel till Dausa railway station. The distance of the fort from Dausa railway station is about 22 kilometers. You will easily find a cab or taxi outside the station.

If we talk about the fort being open daily, then it remains open for tourists only from 6 am to 6 pm. After that it is completely forbidden to go here.
Mystery of the temple present in the fort is unsolved
The fort also houses the temple of Lord Someshwar, the temple of Gopinath, the temple of Mangala Devi and the temple of Keshav Rai. The temples are in good condition to see. But there are no idols. Only Someshwar temple has idols. The special thing is that not everyone can worship in this temple. Only the family members of Tantrik Sindhu Sevada can worship here. Its mystery is also unsolved. There is also a stepwell near the temple, where the villagers take a bath.
